Sika Primer-215

DESCRIPTION

Sika® Primer-215 is a solvent based, colourless to slightly yellow primer that reacts with moisture to form a thin film. This coating acts as a bonding agent between substrates and adhesives.

Sika® Primer-215 is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to the application of Sika's 1-component polyurethanes.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

Sika® Primer-215 is used to improve adhesion on various plastics and wood, such as GRP, epoxy resins, PVC, ABS and wood. Due to the wide variety of plastics, preliminary tests on original production conditions and substrates are necessary. Seek advice from the manufacturer and test on original substrates before using Sika® Primer-215 on materials prone to stress cracking.

This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests on actual substrates and conditions should be included to ensure adhesion and compatibility of the material.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, dust and contaminants. Adhesion on substrates can be improved by adding and/or combining pre-treatment processes such as sanding and/or sanding, cleaning and activation prior to primer application.

Application

Apply a thin coat of Sika® Primer- 215 to the bonding area of the substrate with a brush, felt or foam applicator.

For an ideal application, the surface temperature should be between 15°C and 25°C. Sika® Primer-215 is applied only once. Care must be taken to ensure adequate and dense coverage with only one application.

Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Close the container tightly and immediately after each use.
