SIKAPOWER 4720

SIKAPOWER 4720

DESCRIPTION

SikaPower®-4720 is a high strength, two component epoxy adhesive with excellent bonding properties on a wide range of substrates. It is specifically designed for bonding metal and composite panels. It contains glass beads to ensure an optimum uniform thickness of 0.25 mm.

After application, the product forms a thin skin, which allows for improved wash-off resistance.

Bonding of oily substrates (standard anti-corrosion treatments and deep drawing oils up to 3 g/m2) is possible due to the absorption of oil during the thermal curing process.

DESCRIPTION

SikaPower®-4720 is a high strength, two component epoxy adhesive with excellent bonding properties on a wide range of substrates. It is specifically designed for bonding metal and composite panels. It contains glass beads to ensure an optimum uniform thickness of 0.25 mm.

The adhesive cures at room temperature to form a rigid bond.

After application, the product forms a thin skin, which allows for improved wash-off resistance.

The adhesion of oily substrates (standard anti-corrosion treatments and deep drawing oils up to 3 g/m2) is possible due to the absorption of oil during the thermal curing process.

This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with real substrates and conditions should be carried out to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

ADVANTAGES

High bond strength.

Good adhesion on a wide variety of substrates without the need for priming

substrates without the need for priming.

  • Long open time.
  • Fast curing
  • Does not slip or drip.
  • Can be spot welded (not cured).
  • Designed for optimised joint thickness.
  • Accelerated heat cure.
  • No odour.
  • Excellent corrosion protection.
  • Solvent free.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

SikaPower®-4720 is suitable for bonding panels in areas exposed to high dynamic stresses such as door linings, bumpers, roof panels or partitions.

Use for car bodies only in combination with spot welds, rivets, following the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. Common substrates are metals, in particular aluminium (including anodised and rolled), cold rolled steel and FRP substrates.
